I was very sad to hear of his passing. I spent a lot of time at the McFarland home with the family. I dated Pat, his brother, and introduced Mike to Cathleen. One fond memory was Michael always pulling a fast one one his Mom. He sold her tires from her garage the tires were hers to start with. He was a soft spoken kind hearted man and his sweet nature will be missed by many. I remember Betty passing from lung Cancer as well, their family has had their share of grief. Sandy, Patrick, Betty too many to not take notice they had many crosses to bear. Rest In Peace my friend, I will remember the you with memories when we laughed until we cried. I loved your family and miss them all. It was nice talking to you when Cathlee passed and talking with your son. Rest In Peace my dear beloved friend.

My wife Pat (Cooper) and I were very sad to hear of Mike's passing. We were classmates with him at Reno High and I worked and lived with him for a short time in Gabbs, NV. When I saw his picture I went back to cruising Virginia Street and circling the Mayfair parking lot in our 1967 Dodge R/Ts. I used to bump into him from time to time when he was working for Granite construction and used to make deliveries to Rick in Verdi and ask about him then. He was a soft spoken and kindhearted man and we wish his family peace and God's strength at this time. I am fortunate to have met him and we had some great times with dynamite in the desert. I will see you on the other side Mike and knowing that you are not in this world anymore hurts my heart. Goodbye my friend.
