Michael Senior passed away on Thursday, Oct. 8 in his home with his partner Betty Scott Senior. Mike grew up in northern California and attended the University of Nevada Reno starting in 1990, joining the faculty after graduation so he could continue to bring positive impact to the UNR community.

His days playing football at De Anza high school and then at Nevada from 1991-1994 were some of his fondest memories. Regarded as one of the most productive receivers in Wolf Pack history, Mike remains 15th on Nevada's all-time receiving list and helped the Wolf Pack transition from Division I-AA to the Division I level. The bonds he made with his Wolf Pack teammates remained strong and constant throughout his life. He would travel with his "brothers" on cruises to the Caribbean over the years and remained close with them.

Always a leader, always supportive, always there when you needed him Mike defined the meaning of true friendship. His smile and infectious laughter would light up a room. Mike never knew a stranger and would welcome anyone into his life that made him smile. He loved music, knew the words to every 90's hip-hop song and his dance moves were nothing short of legendary. He was a lover of animals and was often called the "dog whisperer" by his friends whose pups adored him.

Mike was incredibly creative and it showed in his love of all things LED. His leadership and creativity were made evident as he became a driving force behind the creation of his burning man camp's art car. Every holiday the house would be sparkling and shining with decorations and any chance for a costume party was a good day for Mike.

It did not matter how long you knew Mike, a short time or all of his 43 years, when Mike loved you, you were family. Mike is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Tim and Mindy Senior of Fairfield, CA, his wife Betty Scott Senior of Reno, NV and countless friends and family who love him. Mike shined brightly every single day of his life and we will continue to shine bright everyday of ours on his honor. A celebration of life will be held Oct. 31 at the Eldorado Hotel Casino from 3-6:30 p.m.
