Patricia Stovall Obituary

Patricia Galbreath Stovall

August 11, 1927

January 22, 2015

Born Hattie Patricia Galbreath on August 11th, 1927 to William King Galbreath, Jr. and Emma Eppler Galbreath in Mason, Texas, her daddy quickly dubbed her his "High Powered Girl". She grew up in the Texas Rio Grande Valley, and on her 18th birthday married Elda Alexander Stovall, shortly after his return from WWII. Together, they had two children - Dana Gene and Eric Alexander.

While stationed in Iceland (of all places) during the Korean Conflict, Elda became acquainted with some friendly Air National Guardsmen from Reno. Spurred on by these friendships, the family moved west in the early 1950's. A lifelong teacher, Patricia taught preschool and early elementary students, and took great pride in helping children learn. Patricia was active in Beta Sigma Phi, Daughters of the Nile, PEO chapter Q, and various church groups and bible studies, most recently as member of Sparks Christian Fellowship. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved playing cards, and was terribly fond of vanilla ice cream. Ever gracious, Patricia was a model of steadfast positivity, and strove to perfect everything around her.

Patricia passed away peacefully Thursday, January 22nd.

Patricia is survived by her sister Gene Evans of Victoria, TX, sister in law Fran Stovall of Conyers, GA, sister in law Cordelia Stovall of Dallas, TX, her daughter Dana (Mark) Combs, her son Eric (Lisa) Stovall, her grandchildren Patricia (Jack) Bubenik, Megan (Max) Conelly, Max Stovall, Hilary Stovall, and her great-grandson Finnegan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elda Stovall.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 28th at Sparks Christian Fellowship.

With unwavering faith, she was always such an example to all of us in her bible study class. She never questioned her path, just knew that if that was what God wanted her to do, then that is what she was going to do! She has always been a joy to be around and she will be greatly missed. Praise God for calling her back to the home she has been so patiently waiting for.

My Grandmother was the classic lady I ever knew! I looked forwarded to our Sunday phone calls to catch up on things living so far away in rural Oklahoma. I was very blessed being raised by her and my Grandfather Elda part of the time... Those are memories that I will always cherish! I never say the Lords prayer with thinking of her... She taught it to me. We love you Grandma... So very much... Tricia and Jack

My Grandma Pat was the classic lady I have ever known! I knew my Sunday afternoon phone calls to her would be my touch to my family in Nevada. Living in rural Oklahoma I kind of felt out of touch with them but those calls weekly always made me feel loved again!!! I will always be you Sugar...grandma...we love you...Tricia and Jack
