Richard Edward Bybee passed away on May 21, 2013, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Reno, Nevada. Richard was born in Buhl, Idaho on June 24, 1937, the son of Lester Bybee and Juanita (Cutshalts) Bybee. Richard grew up in Buhl, Idaho until moving to Yerington, Nevada in 1952. He worked as an electrician from age 16 until he retired in 2007. In September 1957, he married Ronee' Adamson, they had three children Richard, Vici and Jennifer.
Richard lived in Smith Valley, Nevada from 1966 until 2007, and then moved back to Yerington. While in Smith Valley, Richard was a farmer, electrician (jack of all trades), volunteer firefighter for 20 years, and owned and operated Bybee 4-H Maintenance Mini Mart.
Richard is survived by his wife Ronee' Bybee, sister Shirley Heinrich and brother-in-law Pete Heinrich, children Richard Bybee, Vici Cooper and son-in-law Craig Cooper, Jennifer Lewis and son-in-law David Lewis, Markeeta Meagher and son-in-law Dennis Wilson, grandchildren Amber Carter and grandson-in-law Jim Carter, Daniel Lewis, Amy Lewis and Jaimee O'Berg, and great grandchildren Cyle Carter, Landon Carter and Eliana O'Berg.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 1 p.m., at the Smith Valley Fire Station, 1 Hardie Lane, Smith Valley, Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to the Copper Hills Bible Study Church, 1 Falcon Way, Yerington, NV 89447, the Smith Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 1 Hardie Lane, Smith, NV 89430, or the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345. There will also be fulfillment cards available for the American Cancer Society at the memorial service.
