Stephen Lee Zusman, a resident of Lafayette, CA passed away on August 23, 2015. He was 65. Steve was born in Austin, Texas. Growing up, Steve lived in several different states before his family settled in Carson City, Nevada. From a young age, Steve was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He earned his Eagle Scout Award when he was just 15 years old and the God and Country Award soon afterward. During his senior year in High School Steve was chosen to represent the state of Nevada as a member of the Governor's Council on Scouting, and ultimately received a Boy Scout Scholarship upon his graduation. He was also chosen to represent his entire Boy Scout Region at the 1967 World Jamboree. After his graduation in 1968 from Carson High School, Steve moved to Reno, Nevada. It was there that he met the love of his life, Leslie Lyn Goerl. Steve and Lyn married in 1973 and eventually settled in Lafayette. Steve worked as a General Contractor, starting his own business in 1980. Together, Steve and Lyn enjoyed spending time together camping, traveling the back roads of Nevada, and attending concerts. After his retirement in 2010, Steve especially enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren.

Steve remained active in Scouting in the Mount Diablo Silverado Council, serving as Scoutmaster of Lafayette Troop 224 from 1998-2003 and Unit Commissioner for the Aklan District from 2003-2010. As an adult Steve was recognized for his lifetime commitment and contribution to Scouting by being awarded the District Award of Merit in 1996.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Zusman. Steve is survived by his wife Lyn, daughters Alyssa Hughes(Jack), Shannon Collins(Kevin), son Clay(Stacie), and grandchildren Maddie, Aiden, Maggie, and Johnny, his mother Colleen Moore, brother Rob Zusman(KayCee), niece Janelle Utley, and nephew Jake Zusman.
