My deepest sympathy to the family. Steve will always be a very important part of my life . . . I remember us trying to sneak a ride on a cruise ship in Jamaica but turned away as we must be “locals” (Chris made it on board for a chilly port-to-port ride) . . . snorkeling with sea turtles and a free-swimming eel in Maui . . . seeing the Dead at Winterland (my first) and in the scorching heat of Vegas . . . and Dunlop gray guitar picks . . . it's funny the things we remember sometimes.
Whenever I hear Fire on the Mountain or Redemption Song I will hear Steve singing along . . .
I don't remember losing track of you, You were always dancing in and out of view, I must have thought you'd always be around . . . (J.B.)
Peace to you, your family and your large circle of friends.

Dear Steve, We didn't spend enough time together, but each time we did, I felt the love & beautiful soul you are! So much like Dad. Knowing your spirit is with his, has been a gift that lightens the pain I feel in my heart. I wasn't able to tell you in this life, what I told him. I'll tell you now..."I love you, I'll miss you, I'll see you later."

Steve:
Was a great friend and loving soul. He always had a smile and could make me laugh. On my 25th birthday we went to the golf course to hit a bucket of balls and I was trying to impress Steve and swung so hard I came up off my feet did a complete flip in the air landing on my butt. We both laughed so hard what a spectical that day was. The whole Club House saw it and laughed their butts off too. You are with my wife Bettie in heaven enjoy her as she enjoyed your fellowship.

My condolences to the family. Very fond memories of Steve coming out to Wyoming and trout fishing with my brother Duane. We were all so enthusiastic and Steve's superb attitude was contagious.

To the family of Steve...it is with ultimate sadness and heavy heart that we just read of Steve's transition to Spirit. Steve was such a kind, compassionate and loving soul...we were blessed to have shared this journey with him...he played a solo flute at our wedding in 1979, and remained close to the wife, Karen, and i although we'd not see him for a while, when we did his radiant smile let us know that we were loved...God speed our friend home...namaste.
