Terry Bjerke Obituary

Terry Duane

BJERKE

Saturday, January 19, 2008 Terry Duane Bjerke, 54, of Reno NV, joined his son, brother and grandparents in Heaven. He left this world with all of his children at his side. Terry was born June 30, 1953 in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Buxton, ND. In 1968, Terry was certified as an Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1971. Terry resided for many years in Buxton, ND, Aberdeen, SD, East Grand Forks MN, and Thief River Falls, MN.

He farmed and was involved in several agriculture related businesses during the late 70's. In 1982, he moved to Reno, NV where his commercial contracting and general construction business started. Continuing his search of scripture and his promise to our lord in August of 1996 he put the Lords name on the mountain side above Reno, he carved the inscription “JESUS“ using only a bulldozer covering the entire 11 acre lot.

Terry was preceded in death by one son, Terry Brandon Bjerke; one brother, Jerry Michael Bjerke; and his grandparents Violet and Gust Johnson and Olida and Otto Bjerke. He is survived by three sons, Dane Bjerke (Erin) of MI; Thomas Bjerke of MS; and Solomon Bjerke of NV; two daughters, Jennifer Bjerke Lessard (Chris) of OK, and Amber Rose Bjerke of MN; four grandchildren, his parents, Duane and Ivamae Bjerke of Buxton, ND, two brothers, Curt Bjerke (Rhea) and Tracy Bjerke, one sister, Wendy Haisley (Gale), and thirteen nieces and nephews.

His deep love of fishing, friends, family and scripture is most clearly shown to us all as we review and reflect on his life with us here on earth. May his spirit watch over us all as we continue our lives here until we ourselves can join him again in heaven. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 25 at the Walton Funeral Home, 875 W. 2nd Street, Reno, NV. In lieu of flowers, Memorial correspondence may be sent to the Bjerke Family C/O 230 South Mill Street, Saint Louis , MI 48880.

To Terry's family. I was so shocked to hear of his passing. I pray for God to comfort you with his loving peace. Terry and I were very good friends. I will miss him always. I too saw his work on the side of the mountain and later had the greatest pleasure of knowing him personally.

God Bless you all,
Angie

I love you Terry and I will miss you so much. We had some wonderful moments together. I remembering laughing at your Telle Tubbies and how you just enjoyed sitting there on the couch just looking at them. Oh there is a lot more memories but we can talk about them when I meet you in heaven. I was very priveledged to have been a close friend of the man who bulldozed Jesus on the mountain.

Love Angie

I wanted you to know that seeing Jesus on the side of that hill that day was very moving for me. I thought what a great person to do that. God Bless you and your family at this time. Let knowing we will all be together in God's hands some day be comforting for you. Becky
