Thomas Barb Obituary
Reno - January 7, 1948 - March 23, 2021
Thomas W. 'Tom' Barb of Reno, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2021. He was recovering from cancer treatment, and was in improving health. His passing was unexpected.
He was born in Elkins, WV on January 7, 1948. The son of Robert L. Barb and Natalie Tyre Barb who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his youngest son Thomas C. 'Chris' Barb.
Tom is survived by two sons Robert L. and David N. Barb with wife Taryn Barb. He has two grandchildren Cody and Kami Barb, as well as his brother David R. Barb.
Tom attended WVU before enlisting in the Marine Corp. as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam and Japan. Upon his return he graduated WVU, then moved on to the University of Wyoming where he graduated law school. He practiced law from 1982 until his retirement in 2008, mostly as county or district attorney across Wyoming and into Reno, NV where he finished his career as Chief Deputy D.A. of Washoe County.
Tom enjoyed golfing as often as he could, as well as hunting. In recent years his focus was his grandchildren, spending as much time as he could with them. He loved to watch, teach, and generally egg those two on.
Tom's request for cremation is being honored. A Celebration of Life is planned for April 17th, 2021 from 2-6 PM at West 2nd Events Center, Reno, NV 600 W 2nd St, 89503.
