Violet Landaburu Obituary

Violet (Jerry) Landaburu

Jerry passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2011, with family by her side. She was born September 2, 1927 in Detroit, Alabama to Martin and Lucy Jeffreys. She was married to Bert, the love of her life, for 61 years, who preceded her in death in 2007. They loved to travel, dance and were active members of the Senior Dance Club. The highlight of their retirement years was their annual trips to Yuma, AZ., where they spent the winters with many of their close friends. They made Reno their home where they raised their three daughters.

Jerry retired on March 1, 1986, from the City of Reno after 23 years.

Jerry is survived by her daughters; Dorla (Randy) Barton, Vicki (Jesse) Williams, Jamee (Mike) Bieber, grandchildren: Kristi, Jeffrey (Kathy), Tony (Jessica), Dominic, and Jamee (Tim), nine step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren; Colby, Cambria, Joshua, Corrina, Cierra, Cameron, Dante and Vincent; nieces Janice and JuLea, numerous cousins and Bert's six sisters and two brothers.

Services for Jerry will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2900 North McCarran Blvd., Sparks, NV on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Reception at the Church will immediately follow. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery. Walton's Funeral Home, 875 W 2nd Street, Reno NV 89503 is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic church, the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada or a charity of your choice.

Although petite, you were mighty. We'll miss your funny quips that kept us laughing even in the last few weeks. We love you and will miss you, but are comforted in knowing you are at peace. Until we meet again.
