Walter Zmarzly, 62 passed away on August 7, 2016 at Renown Hospital after a 3 ½ year battle from cancer.

Walter attended Hug High School and was employed as a Laborer at Northwest Framing; Roder Safety Equipment Co., and Moltzen Electrics Inc. in Sparks, Nevada.

He was born in Stuttgart, Germany on October 13, 1953 to Margarete Gertrud Zmarzly. Walter was predeceased by his mother; step-father; Neil Murphy; brothers John, Allen, and Robert Murphy. He is survived by brothers Frank Murphy of Michigan, Sam Murphy (Heather) of California; and sisters Gladys Zmarzly Beyers (Harold) of MD; Patty Murphy Mendoza (James); Ruth Murphy, of California, Shirley Murphy Marson (Scott) of Washington state and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life is planned at a later date. Donations in his memory may be sent to Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, 2680 E 9th St, Reno, NV 89512
