Two nights ago, you were in my dreams. I am here to tell you that I'll be ok, the kids will be ok. I chased you all over in my dreams...i was so close to having you in my arms but not close enough where you disappeared. I cried and woke up crying. But we'll be ok. You're still the love of my life. The kids miss you. Everyone misses you.

I never had the pleasure of meeting you. However, we are in a way connected as this beautiful painting of yours sits just outside my office and I see it everyday at work. I have read all the entries in this guestbook and its clear you were an incredible person who brought unmeasured joy to peoples lives.

Thank you for the artwork, your voice lives on through them.

Dear Dad,
You were AMAZING. As you may know I have turned 11 last month. I can't stop thinking about you. I start crying. I just wanted to say Happy 43rd Birthday. I miss you so much. I have been working so hard in school hoping that you would come back. After every school period I would hope you would come back. Me and the family are doing well. I love you so much. I wasn't ready to say bye.
Lots of Love.

MY SWEETNESS,
Its a long day but I thought of you again today. That is nothing new. I really wish you were here. Sometimes I still think you are here with me, us.
Your babies are doing wonderful. We had the kids' birthday party today. Its going to be harder tomorrow because its her birthday, you brought Soleil into this world with me. Then a week later is Cristians Day. Phew its going to be a long month of June. I still have a voice mail from you and cristian calling me, from years ago. Its hard to listen to but it was so sweet and sincere.
I cant believe you left so soon. I tried so hard to bring you back.
We miss and love you very much. Soleil still posts pictures and school work to your art room door, hoping you would be proud.
Love you.
Love,

Wayne you will be missed so much . Thank you for being such a impact on my daughters life .(Cheyenne) all the pep talks you had with her about education is paying off. You have made a difference in a lot of people's life. In my eyes you were a outstanding marine. You will never be for gotten no matter what . I'm glad my husband had the chance to get to know you. I will sure miss your advice and smiling face. Every time I see a marine I will think about you. Thank you for being there for my kids when you have been. It's was fun when we all would get together for family time. I will treasure that always. A brick with your name will be added to my home town veterans memorial wall for your services in our country. I feel honored to have had Wayne in my life. I will cherish the times we spent together at family gatherings and holidays. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers, not only did I consider Wayne family, he was a Marine Brother,"Semper Fi". I will always cherish the Native American picture you gave me. On today "Veterans Day" I will admit I shed a tear for you in honor of your service to this country. You will be missed but not forgotten. Semper Fidelis Brother.

When I think of Wayne I am reminded of a quote,“Kindness is the essence of greatness and the fundamental characteristic of the noblest men I have known. Kindness is a passport that opens doors and fashions friends. It softens hearts and molds relationships that can last lifetimes.” Wayne will be remembered for his service to his country, and for the kindness, dedication, love, and service to the people of this area. He touched many lives including mine, I had a life changing experience with Wayne a few years ago handing out Christmas gifts to the people of Silver Springs, I saw Wayne's kindness that day, and how the people loved him. I have always been thankful since that day to Wayne for letting me be a part of that. Thank you Wayne. I will see you later my friend, until that time you will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was a real special man who was not afraid to represent his Tribe and he did that well. He was one tribal leader who wanted great things for our veterans and that touched many hearts. To Letecia and kids - just believe and you will get through this. You guys made a beautiful couple. Continue knowing God and all things are possible. Prayers and thoughts are with you during this painful time....Take care.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to the Burke family, especially Leticia and the chldren.
Pyramid Lake has lost a true 'warrior' in all aspects of his dedication, concern, and vision for our Tribe and others. He was a man who looked to our Creator for endless vision and is now at peace. He never forgot the lessons from the past nor feared the challenges of the future. In his work and daily life, he knew the power of the love of Christ.
To all that mourn may you be anointed with grace and let love shine in your hearts so we will never forget to reflect on Wayne's passion for the continued Journey of our lives.
Love and Peace. Rose Mary Joe-Kinale
