Fr. Avella was a kind man. My dad and I remember him and Sister Mary with great fondness with their hospitality in his house and with his sense of humor. We are better people for knowing him. Fr. James Wade and Elizabeth Wade.

Father Avella married Arnold and I 57 years ago at St. Thomas Aquinas in Reno. I took my lessons for marriage from him. He was a fine man. We are still married!

Father will be greatly missed- he was a joy to me over the past 38 years- since I was 4 years old I have been known as "little Laurie" to him. I will forever cherish the memories and will thank God daily for the treasured gift of having known him. He is surely with the angels.
