Known as Billy, Ship or Dave by his family and friends, passed away on Wednesday June 18, 2014 from his battle with Lymphoma. The son of William David Shipman Sr. and Claudette Morris, Billy was born in Porterville, Ca . Billy was preceded to Heaven by his mother Claudette. He is survived by his father William Shipman Sr., daughter Christina Shipman, sister Diana Griffin and brother-in-law Michael, all in the Reno, NV area. Billy lived most of his life in the Reno, NV area and had attended Wooster High School and graduated from Reed High School in Sparks, NV. He was a long time employee of the MGM and Hilton Hotel in Sparks, NV. Billy loved the Nevada "Wolfpack" and was always ready to bet on their football team! Billy was an avid golfer and fisherman and spent his last two years doing what he loved with his Dad!
Billy is in Heaven with his mother, grandparents and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins! He will never be alone!
A Celebration of life will be held on August 16th.

Just found out my friend Dave is in Heaven now. My thoughts and prayers are with you Suzette and Christina at this difficult time. I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was a good man and will be missed. I remember seeing him in the hallways of MGM,Ballys,and Hilton when we all worked at that property. Those were the good days. Rest in peace.

You were my first love and we had 27 years together. We had a lot of good memories. I remember you staring at me in goverment class. You asked what I was doing over christmas break and I said working and I asked what are you doing and you said, taking you out. We have an amazing and beautiful daughter together. You will be greatly missed. Can't believe I am saying this but "Go Giants"

One of the sweetest souls to ever exist. I was very young when his daughter and I created a life long friendship. He was always so caring and concerned for Christina. She was his pride and joy. He loved her unconditionally and without any reservations. I grew up in a house without a father so such a man, I had never seen or heard before. I am so very sorry for the entire worlds loss, but I am especially sorry to my soul sister, my friend, my love...Christina. You are in my prayers every day, but these days your in there two and three times....I love you.

We had 27 years together, you were my first love. I remember you staring at me in government class at Wooster. You asked what I was doing for Christmas vacation, I said working and I said what are you doing....you said taking you out. we had a lot of great memories. we have a beautiful amazing daughter together. She means the world to both of us. You will be greatly missed. You always have a special place in my heart !!
