James "Buddy" Watson

Born: March 17, 1941 |

James "Buddy" Watson, age 84, of Dayton Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He was born on March 17, 1941, in Evensville, Tennessee, to the late William and Cordie Watson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

A lifelong resident of the area, Buddy was a devoted member of Concord Baptist Church. He was known for his strong work ethic and cherished the quiet moments of rest whenever he could find them.

He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Claudia Roberts Watson; his son, James W. Watson Jr.; his sister, Mary Bell Watson; his brother, Bobby Paul Watson; his grandchildren, Baron Lee and Joseph William Watson; and three nieces who will also remember him fondly.

Funeral services for Buddy were held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Pastor LeRoy Smith officiating. The family received friends beginning at 12:00 noon, prior to the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Coulter Garrison Funeral Home of Dayton, Tennessee.
