It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Terry Allyn Eckroad, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Terry passed away on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025.
Terry was born on April 24th, 1954, in Belvidere, IL, to Van and Roberta (Lembke) Eckroad. The family relocated to Birchwood, Wisconsin prior to his junior year of high school where he graduated from Birchwood High School in 1972.
On August 23,1974 he married Patricia Kuznar at St. John's Catholic Church in Birchwood Wisconsin. They raised a son Joseph, and a daughter Sarah in Phillips, Wisconsin, then later in Chetek, Wisconsin. Terry worked at Industrial Air Products in Phillips, Wisconsin for over 20 years where he formed many friendships and long-lasting relationships, including meeting his current wife, Tammy.
On September 30th, 2002, Terry married Tammy Meyer and welcomed an additional stepson Michael into his life. They later relocated to Iron River, Wisconsin where they made many friends within the community. During their time in Iron River Terry was employed at Hood Inc.
In high school Terry excelled in baseball, football, and basketball. Terry was a sports fan and was particularly a loyal and dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings, even though he often joked they shaved years off his life. Terry was also an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending summer afternoons relaxing on a boat or pontoon on any given lake. In more recent years Terry enjoyed riding his Harley and taking several trips which included visiting his sister in Colorado and a trip to Thunder Bay. Terry was respected by many as a loyal, dependable, and caring person who often let his actions speak for themselves. Those around him knew they were loved and cared for.
Terry is survived by his wife Tammy Eckroad of Iron River, Wisconsin; one daughter, Sarah (Jason) Bronstad of Ham Lake, MN; a son, Joseph (Mona) Eckroad of Woodbury, MN; stepson, Michael Meyer of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Susan Eckroad of Gunnison, CO; and three granddaughters, Taylor, Larissa, and Elle Lennartson of Woodbury, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Van and Roberta Eckroad.
A Celebration of Life will be held by his family in the upcoming months. Terry was a pillar of strength, integrity, and compassion amongst his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those lives he touched.
