Mrs. Daniels was my favorite teacher and more importantly was a wonderful human being. I wish I had a chance as an adult to tell her how she had a positive influence on me in high school. She was always approachable and willing to give of her time to help. I will carry found memories of her in my heart forever.

Profound Condolences to Mrs. Daniels' family & students! No question in my mind that her skill in covering Nathaniel Hawthorne of the Class of 1825 got me into Bowdoin! No question either that her having covered "The Scarlet Letter" so well, made it possible for me to write "A Slave To Adam", a local slave ownership story which took place in our local courts over 100 years before "Amisted". She was an extraordinary person who loved teaching, cared about her students and knew her craft. She taught Kate Turabian's "Style and Form in Thesis Writing" so well, that I went on to write "A South County Timeline: The Rhode Island Narragansett Country", all 2,000 pages of it carefully bibliographed & footnoted! We all owe an irredeemable debt to incredible educators like Barbara Daniels who truly make a difference in our lives! I had Mrs. Daniels when she was a student teacher at SKHS. She always had a smile on her face. She was just starting out but outshined the old biddy whose classroom she was assigned to. She was one of the few great teachers at SK, and there weren't that many. It was apparent that she really enjoyed teaching. Thank you for being in my life that one year, Mrs. Daniels.
