Derek Bassett Obituary
NARRAGANSETT, RI Derek Thomas Bassett, 33, a lifelong resident of Narragansett, RI has finally found peace as he is now with our Heavenly Father.
Derek was the son of Herbert Bassett of Narragansett and Deborah White of North Carolina. He is also survived by his sister, Desiree Lavoie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his dog Nico.
A proud graduate of Narragansett High School, Derek demonstrated a natural gift for art that he pursued passionately throughout his career. His artistic flair was not only evident in his professional work but also reflected in his vibrant personality and zest for life. Derek was an avid lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, and swimming, activities that brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with nature. Additionally, he was passionate about dirt bike riding, often finding freedom and exhilaration on the open trails.
His funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory - SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to RI Addiction Treatment Centers, 110 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, RI 02888. Visit NardolilloFH.com for online condolences.
