Raymond McCormick Obituary

Raymond J. McCormick, 93, of East Greenwich passed away peacefully on February 11th at Atria Harbor Hill, East Greenwich.  He was the son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Riley) McCormick and brother of the late Robert J. McCormick.  He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Josephine A. (Murphy) McCormick.  He was a proud WWII  U.S Navy Veteran and served on the USS Wisconsin, USS Alabama and the USS South Dakota from 1943-1945.  Raymond worked for the General Electric Company for 42 years as a National Sales Manager in the Wiring Device Dept.  
He leaves his 6 children,  Kathleen Winsor (Stephan) of Glocester, RI,  Maureen McCormick of Kentucky,  Cheryl Brown (Paul) of Hudson, Ma., Margaret Bullock (wife of the late Gordon Barry Bullock) of East Greenwich, Raymond McCormick (Cynthia) of Coventry and Timothy McCormick  (Charles Yzaquirre) of Los Angeles. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren:  Seana, Stephan, Michael, Justin, Kelly, Jessica, Richard, Jacquelyn, Jennica, Jeffrey, Corey in addition to 11 great- grandchildren.   
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 16th at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in St. Patrick Cemetery East Greenwich. Contributions in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church or the RI Food Bank.

Ray and family. I was heartbroken to find out about your dad. I will always remember him fondly from our high school days and later when he would go to mass at OLM with my dad. Ray I tried to contact you but wasn't able to. Please let Cindy know we're thinking of you both.

My heart is heavy but I celebrate Mr. McCormick's life. He lived life to the fullest and he was at his best when he was surrounded by his beautiful, loving and fun family. I am so thankful for time shared with the McCormick family. He will be greatly missed.
