Roderick Zinsser Obituary
Roderick D. Zinsser, Jr., 67, of South Kingstown, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at South County Hospital. Born in Mineola, New York, he was the son of the late Roderick and Joyce (Barrett) Zinsser.
Rod worked as an oil technician for many years. He had a talent for painting portraits. In his spare time, he would work on his motor- cycle, drive in his corvette, and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Leah Zinsser, a grandson, Zayden Zinsser, two sisters, Alicia Bessette and Andria Cook, his former wife, Carol Zinsser and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Carroll Powers and Dinah Zinsser.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, February 27th at 12 PM in Elm Grove Cemetery, 960 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Calling hours were Monday from 4 to 6 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or to Animal Rescue Rhode Island, 506B Curtis Corner Rd, Peace Dale, RI 02879.
