Roland J. Levesque Sr

Roland J. Levesque, Sr., 88, of Revere Avenue, West Warwick, passed away at Kent Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 24, 2015. He was married for 63 years to Mercedes T. (Senechal) Levesque. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was a son of the late J. Albert and Laurianne (St. Jean) Levesque.
Roland owned and operated the former Levesque & Sons Plastering Company. He laterwas employed at the Department of Corrections for the State of Rhode Island, as a plasterer with building maintenance for 22 years before retiring. He graduated from West Warwick High School in 1945. Roland was a Sergeant in the US Army serving in the European Theater of War during WWII. He enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening. Roland was an avid Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots fan.
He was the father of Roland J. Levesque Jr. and his wife June of Beaufort, South Carolina, Joscelyne M. Mailloux of Coventry and her late husband Norbert, Denise A. DiCarlo and husband Kevin of West Warwick, Louise T. Jalbert and husband Steven of Coventry and Maurice R. Leveque and wife Jane of Mercer, Maine. He was the brother of Rita Dessert of New Orleans, LA, Florence Calci of Coventry and the late J. Albert Levesque and Lucille Lavalle. Roland is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
His Funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Christ The King Church. Interment with military honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
