Boyd Keisel Obituary

Boyd Keisel Boyd D. Keisel, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and cherished member of his community, passed away at the age of 89 in Richfield. His death has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of love, service and adventure will always be remembered. Boyd was born Oct. 31, 1933, in Ephraim, to George and Elfia Keisel. He was one of 14 children. It was the early years of his life with family that shaped the man that he was. He deeply loved his parents and siblings and cherished both the good and difficult times that developed his work ethic, character and his love of the outdoors. A man of great patriotism, Boyd served his country during the Korean War bravely defending the values and freedoms of our country that he held dear. His selfless service exemplified his dedication to something greater than himself and set an example for others to follow. Following his service in the army, Boyd met and married Ann Stevens in June 1957, they later divorced. Together they had 3 children, Kimberly, Kurt and Chet. It was during those years that he dedicated his life to his family and his education pursuits. Boyd believed in the power of education and devoted decades of his life in the Sevier School District as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent. He later was the director of the Richfield Residential Hall. His passion for learning was contagious, and he touched the lives of countless students, imparting both academic knowledge and invaluable lessons. Boyd's impact as an educator extended far beyond the classroom, shaping the minds and futures of generations. Beyond his professional achievements, Boyd was a devoted family man. In August of 1995, Boyd married Natalie Lark, whom he cherished and loved. With the union of their marriage, he gained 3 more children, Mike, Sandi, and Cindi. As a husband, father and grandfather, he was a constant source of guidance, support, and encouragement, instilling in all his children the values of integrity, perseverance, and compassion. Boyd was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he found solace and strength with his relationship with God. He served in his ward in many capacities during his life. He was a gospel doctrine teacher, home teacher, a service missionary, and a temple worker. He lived his life through acts of kindness, compassion and devotion. His belief in the atonement, power of prayer and his commitment to his own spiritual growth was a guiding source in his life. Beyond his professional life and church membership, Boyd embraced the great outdoors with a fervor matched only by his love for his wife and family. He was an avid outdoorsman. He had often led his family and friends on unforgettable adventures, sharing the joys of hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping. His appreciation for nature and the opportunities for bonding with loved ones provided deep connections and valuable lessons for those that were fortunate enough to join him. As an accomplished author, we are lucky to have the words Boyd wrote to captivate, inspired and uplift. He published 2 books, drawing from his wealth of experiences and wisdom gained over a lifetime of experiences. Through his writing he touched the minds of many imparting his wisdom and invaluable life lessons. Above all, Boyd was a family man. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings knew no bounds. His presence at family gatherings brought warmth and joy to all and his unwavering support and encouragement served as a guiding light for his loved ones. Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Natalie; his children, his siblings, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of family and friends who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence.
