KOAMI DELANGE Obituary

KOAMI DELANGE Austin, Utah - Koami Davis DeLange was born on June 11, 1938 at her Grandma Davis's home in Antimony, Utah to Wilford Day Davis and Eva Beatrice Twitchell, where she lived most of her life until retiring from cooking school lunch at the Antimony Elementary School. After retiring, she moved to Austin, Utah where she lived until passing. Koami was one of nine children. She had 7 brothers (Kirk, Ned, John, Clark, Lowell, Steve, and Ross) and 1 sister (Elizabeth Ann). Koami attended school at Antimony Elementary until the 8th grade and then graduated from Piute High School located in Circleville, Utah on May 15, 1955. She also attended seminary and was awarded a testimonial of honorable graduation. Koami married Wayne A. DeLange on June 1, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was later sealed for time and all eternity in the St. George temple on June 27, 1964. Together they had 5 children: Jackie (Darryl) Bulloch of Cedar City; Denice (Paul) Pratt of Taylorsville; Bonnie (Richard) Hall of Las Vegas, Nevada; Penni (Terry) Christensen of Central Valley; and Terral (Kristy Holm) DeLange of Monroe. Koami was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held many ward and stake callings. She happily served members in her ward and community and especially her family. She thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers where she made lasting friendships. Koami loved to read. We often found mom reading to dad. Her love of reading sparked a love of reading in Dad. She loved sewing and piecing together baby quilts. Every grandchild was loved with a homemade quilt. She loved writing letters and sending cards. She always kept her hands busy by serving others. She crocheted, knitted and loved crafting. She was a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothing for children and grandchildren. Mom was a funny lady. She loved hearing and telling funny jokes. She enjoyed being happy. Mom leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend, Wayne; two brothers: Clark and Ross; her 5 children, 21 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren. Koami passed away on September 26, 2024 at home with many of her loved ones. She was welcomed home by her parents, her brothers and sister and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Andreason. At her request, there will be no viewing or funeral. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, October 4, 2024 in the Monroe City Cemetery. Services will be under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. Online guestbook at springerturner.com
