Alice Shrefler Obituary
She was born June 14, 1929 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Constintino A. and Elvira (Costrino) Jeannette.
She married John T. Shrefler on May 13, 1950. He preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1999. She resided in Ridgway all her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and the Ridgway Elk County Historical Society. She was a graduate of Ridgway Area High School. She had been employed by Ridgway National Bank for many years.
She is survived by the following children: Rita A. (Robert) McVey of Hermitage, Tim (Peggy) Shrefler of Rock Hill, S.C., Sam (Joan) Shrefler of Annville and June Pettys of Erie; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Palma Saline, Clara Jeannette and Valia (Babe) Mahaney.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice V. Shrefler will be held at St. Leo Catholic Church Wednesday morning, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home, 136 Center St., Ridgway.
