Anne Marie Hargrave Obituary
Born July 26, 1922 in Ridgway to Sam Frederico and Angeline DeVittorio, she graduated from Ridgway High School and from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She was an Army Lieutenant in World War II and served on hospital ships in both Europe and the Pacific. She met her husband, Albert Hargrave, on the hospital ship Marigold. They raised their three children in Ridgway. She was a member of St. Leo's Church and a devout Catholic her entire life.
Anne retired from her career in nursing from the Ridgway Hospital when she and Al
moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1983. When Al retired, they moved to Sewell, New Jersey, where Al died in 2000. They were married for 54 years. She was also preceded in death by her six sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Grimenstein (Reed), Audubon New Jersey; her son, Jim Hargrave (Nancy), Vestal New York; and her son, Sam Hargrave (Nina), State College. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law, Virginia Hauber and family.
A memorial mass will be celebrated this Saturday, Aug. 25 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Ridgway at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Noon reception for family and friends at the Royal Motel.
