Arthur Zambanini Obituary

Arthur J. Zambanini, age 94, of 785 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was born May 25, 1927, in Weedville, PA, son of the late Senatore and Edith (Bussato) Zambanini. He married Nora Jean Harvey on June 23, 1951, she preceded him in death on January 18, 2020. He resided in Ridgway most of his life and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Church Council, and Choir. He was a member of the Masonic Elk Lodge #379 and a past Master in 1979 and 1986. He was a graduate of Kersey High School. He was the owner of Art's Market for 21 years. He served in the U.S. Army with the 252 Combat Engineer Corps Battalion in the European Theater and was a Veteran of WW II.

He is survived by two sons: Richard L. (Loretta) Zambanini of Ridgway and John M. (Maria) Zambanini of Berryville, VA; one daughter Lisa M. (Joseph) Viglione of Endicott, NY; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister Betty Gapinski of Johnsonburg, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson Logan and a brother Edward Zambanini.

Due to the continuing concern of COVID, there will be a Private Service with Rev. Erik Hart Officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Ridgway Servicemen's Burial Detail. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
