David Calla Obituary
He was born Jan. 6, 1960 in Ridgway, son of John and Pauline Holtzhauser Calla of Johnsonburg.
He was married to Maria Perera and she survives.
He was a 1977 graduate of Elk County Christian High School in St. Marys.
David was a compassionate, loving, hard working and well respected man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished the times spent with his family.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his children, Tony Calla, Jessica, Mrs. Brian Kinney, Sarah Gennarelli, Kristine Calla, David Calla Jr. and Courtney, and Alyssa, Joseph, Johnathon and Briana Calla; his grandchildren, Siara, Caden, Safia, Aiiden, Kealen, Kooper, Briilyn, Elliana and Giiarra; his brothers, Michael Calla and his wife Marybeth and Peter Calla and his wife Kelly, all of Sharon, and John Calla and his wife Robin of Ridgway; a sister, Regina, Mrs. Dave Myers of Johnsonburg; his in-laws, Thomas and Joanne Perera; and brother and sister-in-laws William Perera, Frank Perera and his wife Melonie and Suzette, Mrs. Robert Caldera. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Christopher Gennarelli.
Funeral services for David A. Calla Sr. were held Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Great Bend, under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. of Hallstead. Friends are invited to join the family at Central Hose Co., Johnsonburg (upstairs) on Saturday Oct. 17 following the 5:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Rosary Church, also in Johnsonburg, for a celebration of David's life.

So sad to hear this news. It seems just like yesterday that we were all playing softball or just running around the playground just having fun like we did everyday. My thoughts and Prayers go out to the entire Calla Family. God Bless you Dave!!! You will be missed!!!
