Mark Abraham Obituary

Mark Abraham passed away on Sunday evening, July 6, 2025 at his home in Riverton. He leaves behind his wife, Christy Pyles, 6 siblings and many friends. Mark grew up in Ridgway, Pennsylvania and began trapping at around 8 years of age. His fondest memories of childhood were time spent on his grandparents farm; as well as many adventures trapping, and hunting with his friends in Pennsylvania. An early exposure to the writings of Zane Grey, left a longing to explore the West. Actual exposure to Idaho and Wyoming during a summer on fire crew left him determined to move to Wyoming one day. In college, Mark studied Forestry and Recreation, with a dream of becoming a Park Ranger. When that pathway didn't become available he joined the Pennsylvania State Patrol. After several years in the PSP, he took advantage of an opportunity to live his dream and moved to Wyoming, transferring to the Wyoming State Patrol. Over his career in law enforcement Mark served on the WSP stationed out of Shoshoni and then with the Riverton Police Department as a Patrolman, Detective and Captain. Throughout his life, he continued with his passion for the outdoors; trapping, fishing and hunting. Mark has had a long and difficult battle with his health for several years and we take comfort knowing he is finally at rest. A private gathering of friends will be scheduled at a future date.
