Paul Gallup Obituary
He was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Kane, son of the late Eben and Mildred (Cook) Gallup. He married Ruth L. Lindgren on May 26, 1950, she preceded him in death on April 2, 2006.
He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Boy Scout Troop #93 and the Elk Lodge #379. He was a graduate of Ridgway High School.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of WW II. He had also been employed by Alltel for 40 years.
He is survived by three granddaughters: Kerrie K. (Michael) Cowan of Ridgway; Susan K. (Jeffery) Baird of Janesville, Wisconsin; and Rachel E. King of Ridgway; his son-in-law, Thomas W. King of Ridgway; five great-grandchildren: Max, Madeline, Jack, Garret, and Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Gallup King, and one brother, David Gallup.
A Memorial Service for Paul E. Gallup will be private. Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Ambulance or to the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.

I first met Paul as a young teen Scout when
he served as an adult leader of Troop 93. Paul was an admired role model for all of us. Little did I know then that I would one day become part of his extended Gallup family which only enriched our friendship.
