Skye Melzer Obituary
She was born Dec. 7, 1993 in Ridgway, the daughter of Rudolph T. Melzer and the late Colleen (Darnell) Melzer.
She was a self-employed artist creating her own fashions and selling them. She participated in the art shows at The Butler Art Center, a Fire Spinner, Tattoo artist who enjoyed traveling.
She resided in Belize for a year. She would travel back in winters when she had the opportunity as living there was a big part of her life.
She enjoyed traveling through Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua in her bare feet. She touched a lot of lives with her energetic personality.
Surviving are her father, Rudolph T. Melzer of Slippery Rock; her stepmother, Mary (Homison) Melzer of Slippery Rock; a brother, Forrest (Alaina) Melzer of Harrisville; two stepbrothers, Javen and Sawyer; a nephew, Mason Melzer; and a niece, Willow Melzer.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A Memorial Service for Skye N. "Skylar Stardust" Melzer will be held Sunday, July 26 at 7 p.m. at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, with the Minister Rudolph Melzer officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m.

Skye, you were in my life so briefly but we talked about the perfume that you wore that smelled so good that you bought at the Dollar Store. I mistook one of the metal posts on your forehead as a bug. You loved how comfortable the bed in my spare room left. I will miss you greatly and have no doubt you will go on to do wonderful things in the afterlife as you did in your earthly life. Until we meet again, Chicky, I will think of you often.

I read with sadness about Skye's passing. I was one of her teachers while she attended Ridgway schools. I remember her incredible artistic talents and her beautiful, free spirit. I am so sorry, Rudy.

skye we love you. you were so talented. I missed you even when you weren't in ridgway with us. find peace with your mother and uncle john. I miss them as well. I guess its true angels are taken from us too soon.
