Kay Goad Obituary

Kay Elaine Ward Goad, 69, of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 2, 1945, in Sunbright. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church in Kingston, where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher. Her hobbies included being outdoors, reading, crafts, puzzle books, watching DIY/HGTV and bird watching. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Lorene Kennedy Ward.
Survivors include loving husband, Wayne Goad, Harriman; children, Jonni Wood and husband Allen, Kingston, Anthony "Tony" Goad and wife Destini, Hixson, Larry Goad, Knoxville, Jodi Robbins, Washington, D.C., Seth Goad, Cookeville, Tyler, Nathan and Justin Goad, all of Harriman; grandchildren, Hannah Wood, Andy, Autumn, Abigail, Alex and Asher Goad; sister and brothers, Teressa Captain, Sunbright, Jeryl "Jerry" Ward and wife Barbara, Wartburg, Phillip Ward and wife Jeanie, Sunbright, Darlene Murray and husband Brian, Sunbright, and Sandi Bryant, Harriman; sister- and brothers-in-law, Sue King, Knoxville, Jimmy Goad and wife Phyllis, Robbins, Johnny Goad, LaFollette, and Judy Lueking and husband Mark, Clinton; special honorary grandchildren, Peyton Wakham and Landon Davidson; a host of extended family and special friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff with Home Health Care of East Tennessee Inc. & Hospice for their love and support throughout Kay's lengthy illness.
A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in Mars Hill Baptist Church, Kingston, with the Rev. Ronnie Maples and the Rev. BB Ratledge officiating. The family will receive their friends immediately following the service at the reception in the fellowship hall. An online register book can be signed at www.FrakerFuneralHome.net. Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, is in charge of arrangements.
