Walter Weatherford Obituary
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was an avid reader of history and a lifelong student of philosophy and religion.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Martha Sue Thompson Weatherford; his parents, Walter Clyde 'Pat' Weatherford Sr. and Kathleen Hinds Weatherford; a great-aunt, Virginia Hinds; and three sisters, Virginia Weatherford, Martha Jane Radakovich and Elizabeth Griffin.
He is survived by his brother, George Weatherford; two sisters, Kathleen York and Margaret Hartman; and two daughters, Eleen Scott and Teresa Curry. Known as Pappy, he is survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
His family will forever miss his loving spirit, infectious smile and heartfelt stories.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Oak Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of Tennessee, 460 S. Kingston Ave., Rockwood, TN 37854.
