Albert Broughton Obituary

Albert F. Broughton Jr., 83, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Peekskill, N.Y., before moving to Roanoke in 1985, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 30, 2010. He was a member of the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. He was retired from the New York Telephone Company and a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Joan; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Broughton Stewart and Bob Stewart, of Bedford County; granddaughters, Heather Bradley, of Bedford County, Jacqulyn Joan Bryant and husband, Mitch, of Newport News, Va.; greatgranddaughters, Lauren Bradley, Kiaira Bryant; greatgrandsons, Jakob and Jashua Bradley, Cage Bryant; brothers, Gene Broughton and wife, Marie, James Broughton and wife, Joan, all of Fishkill, N.Y. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Michael N. Ennis officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540362-1237.
