Anita Stump Obituary

Anita Mae Stump, 57, of Roanoke, went to be with her Savior, Friday, November 24, 2006 after a difficult battle with Cancer. Anita was born in Ravenna, Ohio and was an employee of Shenandoah Life Insurance Company with over 20 years of service. She was a dedicated member of Hollins Road Baptist Church, where she loved teaching Sunday school and working in the nursery. Anita was a loving wife and devoted mother, and will be sorely missed by her family as well as the community. Anita is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Megan; her son, Kristopher; her father; Vernon Bishop of Florence, S.C.; her two sisters, Linda Anderson of Raleigh, N.C. and Sandra Carraway of Effingham, S.C.; and her brother, Vernon Bishop of Lancaster, Pa. Anita was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Bishop. The family would like to thank the members of Hollins Road Baptist Church, as well as other friends and neighbors for their devotion and faithful prayers during the past several months--they have been a well-spring of support and strength. In addition, the family extends their gratitude to the oncology and radiology departments of Lewis-Gale Medical Center for their dedicated efforts throughout Anita's treatment. Do not stand at my
grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand
winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush
I am in the graceful rush.
Of beautiful birds
in circling flight.
I am the starshine of the night.
I am the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my
grave and cry,
I am not there--I did not die.
