Mrs. Waybright, as one of Ann's fellow geology students, I wish to express my sorrow at your loss. I remember a bright, cheery young lady who lived up the "Bright" part of her name.

When she was president of the geology club, she asked me about Dr. Carlton Michael, the gentleman running the newly-built geology museum at Virginia Tech. When I informed her that he was going to donate one of the finest private mineral collections to Virginia Tech and that he was having trouble getting specimens from the old museum to the new one, she got right on the job and made sure the geology club helped transfer the specimens. I have heard people say Virginia Tech's geology collection is one of the finest in Virginia. She deserves credit for helping the museum get established and running. She will be missed.

Mrs. Waybright,
I am so sorry for your loss.
I am sure you do not remember me, but I am Patsy Hawkins and Jewel Snider's daughter, Lynn. I remember meeting you and your sister Laura Jane, when we used to to bring my Grandma Bessie Hawkins down to visit you.
With Deepest Sympathy,

Sharon Matherly Knight

Mrs. Waybright, I am so sorry to hear about Ann. I remember her from high school as such a pleasant girl. I know this is a difficult time for you and your family. Please know that you are in my prayers. Please give Amy my love, also.
