Anne Parker Johnson took her final bow at age 93 on October 25, 2023. Born to Anne and Harry Parker, Anne spent most of her youth in Atlanta and St. Simons Island Georgia. She attended Greensboro College where she discovered her lifelong love of theatre and then enlisted in the US Navy, serving in Norfolk VA during the Korean War. Anne was married in Norfolk in 1954 and the next decades of life saw the birth of four children and 18 moves in seven different states. Landing in Christiansburg, VA in 1976, Anne was finally able to put down roots. Here she found lifelong friends, including her beloved cohorts in CCT/Playmakers and Co where she fully embraced her love of all things theatre.

In 1991 Anne married the love of her life, Eric W. Johnson, in what can only be described as a storybook ending. With Eric by her side, she lived a life full of joy, love, and adventure. A desire for warmer weather led them from St. Albans VT to Hendersonville NC where Anne found her final theatre home with the Hendersonville Little Theatre. Together they shared their love of family, friends, cats, Bridge and travel.

Anne is survived by her children, Suzanne (Roger) Claxton, William Langley, Steven (Michele) Langley, and Jefferson (Melissa) Langley; her step children Mark Johnson and Alice Johnson; her grandchildren Molly Claxton, Rachael (Brice Moore) Claxton, Taylor (Suzannah) Langley, Madison Langley, and Kevin Langley; step grandchildren Marta (Nick) Poling, Karl Johnson and Callie Rasmussen; great grandchildren Genevieve Poppy Moore and Henry Poling; Sisters in law Dolly Johnson, Sandy Letendre and Holly Glassman; special cousin Maryann (David) Brown and devoted and dear friend Nora Kenney.

Special thanks to the amazing team of caregivers at the Kroontje Healthcare Center who treated her like a beloved family member and the team from Good Samaritan Hospice who compassionately saw to her comfort.

A private interment ceremony will be held at Historic Christ Episcopal Church Frederica, St. Simons Island GA.
