Barbara Hall Obituary

Barbara Blankenship Hall

January 29, 1933 - October 10, 2024

Barbara (Bobby) Ethel Blankenship Hall of Bryan, TX passed away peacefully in the morning of October 10, 2024 with her son, Rick Hall at her side. Bobby was born on January 29, 1933 in Roanoke, VA to Henry Morton Blankenship and Avis Turner Grubb. Bobby lived a full and rich life of 91 years and loved everyone she met. She made sure to tell her friends and caretakers that she loved them.

Bobby met the love of her life, Donald (Don) Hall and married on January 14, 1954 in Roanoke, VA where they lived their entire lives until moving to Texas in 2021 to be closer to family.

Bobby was a strong Christian and a devoted member of St. Andrews Catholic church in Roanoke, VA. She loved the Lord and loved everyone that she was close to. She cherished her family and devoted her life to make sure they were taken care of and would brag about her children's accomplishments to anyone who would listen.

One of Bobby's favorite hobbies was entering sweepstakes. Because of her crafty techniques, she won frequently and would share her winnings with her family. She had a head for numbers which allowed her to win quite often playing the lottery.

Bobby was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents and her sister Hertha (Tootie) Kingery. She is survived by her son Rick and wife Melinda, daughter Donna Steffek, her four grandsons which include Jesse Hall (Meghan), Trent Hall (Katie), Reid Blosser (Rachel), and Gavin Blosser (Christina). She leaves three great grandchildren: Riley June Hall, Colton Blosser, Grady Blosser and baby boy Hall on the way.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at Hillier Funeral Home in College Station, TX. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with inurnment following at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Bryan, TX.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Isle of Watercrest in Bryan, TX for their loving care. The nurse's aides were so loving and many were Mom's angels! She loved you so much.

If I am not mistaken, Bobby lived next door to my family in the early 1960's on Pleaseant View Avenue, the Peters family. She was always fun to be around. I am sorry for your loss. Happy you had her for so long !!
