August 22, 1967 - May 18, 2021
Brian Keith Carner, 53, husband of Katrina Sutphin Carner, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. He was born in Illinois and was the son of Judy Ann Rodgers and the late Larry David Carner.
Brian was well known for many things including his love of baseball and cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Socks. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was a gifted cook and grille master who enjoyed a good glass of wine with whatever he was cooking. His love of antiques could be seen by anyone who visited the home he shared with Katrina.
In addition to his wife of 19 years, he will be missed and remembered by his mother, Judy Ann Carner; brother, Brent Allen Carner (Trish Lowe); mother-in-law, Mary Sutphin; fur babies, Noah, Finnbar and Charlie; as well as a multitude of other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 3 until 5 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue, 1725 Edwardsville Road, Hardy, VA 24101.

Katrina,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. I was devastated to hear the news of Brian´s passing. Besides being a loyal business partner, he was also a dear friend and confidant. I will really miss the laughter and friendship he brought to my life. Truly one of the "good guys" you run across during your life. Let Brent know my condolences to him as well.
