Carson Hamilton Obituary
January 3, 1943 - September 29, 2025
Carson (Bev) Hamilton, 82, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 29, 2025, after a nine-year battle with Alzheimer's.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Alice and Harold Snodgrass; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Marjorie Painter; and brother-in-law, Buck Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandy Hamilton; his son, Stephen Hamilton (Saralyn); two grandchildren, Charlotte and Carson Wills Hamilton; granddog, Bishop; sisters-in law, Karen Taylor and Sheila Painter; and special nieces and their families, Shanna Rawlyk and Jessica Williamson.
Carson was born in Dante, Va. and played football for Castlewood High School and East Tennessee State University. He obtained his law degree from LaSalle University while working for Allstate Insurance. With a desire to run his own agency business, in 1980, Carson and Harry Victorine established Commercial Insurance Services. After 35 years, Carson's dream was continued when his son, Stephen, assumed leadership of the agency and second generation, HAWK Advisers, was established.
Carson was a good man, always a gentleman. He loved the Lord (serving as both Deacon and Elder), his family, co-workers, friends, and clients.
The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Mitchell and the staff at Brandon Oaks Memory Care and Good Samaritan Hospice for the care given to Carson during his illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 6011 Merriman Road, Roanoke, Va., with reception following the service. A private burial will be held.
