Cathy Ann Loving Kirk

Cathy Ann Loving Kirk, 73, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

She was born on February 9, 1950, to the late Margaret Ann Gregory Loving and Lt. Col. Arlon Dowe Loving.

Cathy was an active member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Roanoke, Va., where she served as a Deacon, an Elder, and was a longtime participant of the handbell choir.

She received her bachelor's degree from Stratford College in Danville, Va. Cathy received a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va.

She was a longtime member of the Junior League of the Roanoke Valley and often volunteered at her daughters' schools. Cathy was a devoted member of her Bible study, her book club, and various ladies lunch groups.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kelly Kirk Thomas (David) of Charlottesville, Va., and Kaitlin Joyce Kirk of Nashville, Tenn., as well as her beloved granddaughters, Ann Watson Thomas and Libby Thomas.

The family wishes to thank Cathy's treasured friends for their prayers, care and support.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Don Hardman officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the World Wildlife Fund at protect.worldwildlife.org or to the children's charity of your choice.
