August 30, 1938 - September 9, 2024
Early Monday morning, September 9, 2024, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Charlie Louis Phelps answered the Captain's call and moved to the peaceful shore where Pilgrims meet to part no more.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory, Roanoke. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024 in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Live Streaming will be available from the Hamlar-Curtis website. Click "View Live Streaming Here" at the top of the screen, then select "YouTube Live Stream, Roanoke". The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. I will miss Uncle Charlie. It has been a while since I have seen him, but I will always love and cherish him. Rest in Peace UNC. You will truly be missed. My condolence to the the family for the loss of your husband, farther, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. I wish I could be there for his home going, but my heart will be there for you all. I knew Charlie from where I worked at the gas station for 10 years he lived up above the gas station Amoco. He was a very nice man and I really liked him and I met two of his sons. That was in The Cave Spring area my condolences to his family, Linda
