Clarsie Furrow Obituary

Clarsie Sarver Furrow, 95, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 27, 2010. She was born February 6, 1915 in Ironto, Va., a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Sarver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Furrow, son, Kenneth Furrow, three brothers, and three sisters. She retired from Kenrose Manufacturing after more than 25 years of service. Following her retirement she worked as a sitter, helping many recover from their sickness. She was a longtime, active member of New Life Christian Ministries. Surviving are her children, Evelyn Meadors, of Roanoke; Buford Furrow, of Olympia, Washington, Dorsey Furrow and wife, Barbara, of Anderson, S.C.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Mission Fund, C/O New Life Christian Ministries , 5745 Airport Road Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Walter Wood and the Rev. Larry Meadors. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home, 366-0707.
