Clinton Carl CRAGHEAD

Clinton Carl Craghead, 89, of Moneta, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at Runk & Pratt Nursing Home, Hardy. He was born on Tuesday, October 23, 1923, in Bedford County, a son of the late Joseph Bruce Craghead and Lilly Lipscomb Craghead. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers and three sisters.
He was a salesman with Murray & Bolling Chevrolet for 33 years, having retired in 1988, and was a member of Morgans Baptist Church and the Bedford Rifle Greys. He was also a veteran of the United States Army 15th Infantry 29th Division, having served in the European Theatre during World War II, where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Alice Dooley Craghead; two daughters, Twyla C. Crisp and husband, Jerry, Sheree C. Saunders and husband, David, all of Moneta; a sister, Alma Obenchain, of Moneta; three grandchildren, Jennifer R. Nance, Erik D. Saunders, Autumn C. Saunders; and a great grandson, Tavion "Tay" Nance.
The family would like to thank the staff of Runk & Pratt and Carilion Bedford Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Morgans Baptist Church with the Rev.Rick Mallory officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
