Daniel Haupt Obituary

Daniel Jacob (Danny) Haupt, 78, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Friday, October 24, 2008. He was born March 22, 1930, to the late Earnest and Irene Brown Haupt. Daniel was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Wallace Haupt, and 10 brothers and sisters. He was retired from Pepsi-Cola and was presently working at Kroger Company. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Elinor Dollman Haupt; one son, Frank Overstreet Haupt, of Roanoke; three daughters, Dorothy Wolfe and husband, Ray, of Roanoke, Robin M. Neighbors, of Bedford, and Evelyn Gilmore, of Roanoke; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Haupt and wife, Dot, of Blue Ridge and Johnny Haupt and wife, Mae, of Roanoke; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008, from the Airlee Court Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Baldwin officiating. Burial to follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.
