Joanne and Family,
Darrell was a very special person, friend, and neighbor to Nick and I. Whatever Darrell did was special and he did it very well. I know that is why GOD called him on. Nick and I brought our homes in Myrtle Beach at the same time and moved in the same time. We hit if off as if we had known each other for years. Nick and I were blessed to have Darrell and Joanne four years, for our neighhbors. It really seemed like 20 years. We had so much fun living together for a short time. When we met the children for the first time, it was love at first site. We bonded so well, that when Darrell and Joanne told Nick and I they were moving there was tears of sadness. I could go on and on, but I know that Darrell is in a better place and Nick and I will see him someday.
Love to Joanne and Family and my GOD continue to Bless each one of you always.

Darrell was a great man, a great husband to Joanne, a great father to his children and great friend to so many. I am thankful and grateful for the time I was able to spend with him over the years. I will miss the laughter and the fun that we always had anytime we were together. You will be missed greatly but never forgotten. Rest in peace. Stacey

Darrell...I want to thank you for being a great Father In-law to me. Saying goodbye to you was like saying goodbye to my own dad. I will always remember our talks by your bedside, thanking you for Darlene and for loving Leann. I will forever remember what a kind and giving man you were, always putting your family first. I hope you know what an inspiration you were to your family...because of you, they have good morals, family values and most of all family love. I will always remember our family vacations and trips to the beach but most of all I will remember your smile and the way you loved to have fun! Rest in peace. Steve

Darrell, the love of my life...I know you are in a better place, with no more pain. I am so lost and empty without you. You are everywhere in the house...a constant reminder of life without you. I love you so much and miss you so much!! You were too young to leave us! I know we will meet up again one day...Rest in Peace. All My Love, Joanne

What I will remember the most is what a generous person you were. Thank you for all the help around the house, from building a deck, finishing off the basement, and installing the impossible lamp post. You always had time to explain something or give advice on how to do projects. You had a rare gift that allowed you to talk to others and make instant friends. Thank you for all you did. And thank you for the biggest gift of all which was when you said “yes” to whether or not I could have your daughter's hand in marriage. For that I am eternally grateful. Rest in peace. Love and miss you! Ron

Dear Darrell,
I want to thank you for being my father for all these years having lost my dad to cancer. Having you in my life filled the void and the hole that was left in my heart. You were the most giving person I ever met and you made me and Amanda feel like a part of your family from the first day you met us, that always made me feel special. Thanks for all the help and guidance you provided, you will be missed and our family will not be the same without you. Say hello to my parents, I am sure they would love you too. I love you, Gerald

Darrell, I Will never ever forget you, I don't know how I will go on without you. We were together for so long. We had many wonderful times together. I will never forget how much fun we had dancing. That I do miss already. Thank you for our children. Five wonderful kids. You always tryed to make me happy. I was always first in everything. I feel so empty without you. I hated so much to see you sick and how you hurt so much and for so long. I hope now you are at peace. You were loved by lots of people. You are missed and will be missed forever.
You are in a good place now. Rest in peace always. We will meet someday.
I will always love you.

Dear Dad, I'll never forget the first time I met you. You followed us to the hotel we were staying at for a softball tournament, you got out of the car.... and mooned me! That was the beginning of a very special relationship. You and mom have always treated me like a daughter. I'm so blessed to be a part of this wonderful family. Not a day goes by that we don't think about you. All the yard sales we had together, the flea markets, and craft shows. It always made me laugh to hear you tell the story of you going to a yard sale the first time with my dad and he asked for grenades and dynamite. Hahaha.... Yall always had so much fun together. Know that you are always in our hearts. Every time we look in our childrens eyes, there is a piece of you there. They will carry on your kind caring ways and generosity towards others. And of course, they will carry on the tradition of the family poker games every time we are all together. I love you dearly and miss you so much! You will be forever in our hearts! Heaven got one VERY special Angel and we know you are watching over us! Love always!

Darrell touched the lives of everyone around him, including mine. He was a remarkable man, father, and friend to all that new him. He always made me feel like a part of the family, and I feel so fortunate to have known him. His incredible generosity, caring, devotion to family, and many other wonderful qualities made him one of the most special people I have ever known. I will always keep his memory close to my heart and aspire to be the kind of person he was.

Darrell was a special man. So many funny stories have been shared within our family about Richard and Darrell and Cookie and Joanne. Darrell was a strong man whose memory will live on through the strength of character and courage he has shown throughout his battle of cancer and his lifetime. I can still see Darrell and Joanne dancing at Karen's birthday party. What a beautiful sight! It seems like only yesterday. He will be missed- forever and ever.

Dad you were a wonderful Father, always so happy and joking. Our family won't be the same without you.
You loved all of us with such joy and pride that it lit up your face every time we were together.
Some of you may not have known my Dad the way that I did, but for those who did not get to see this side of him
missed out on knowing a great man.
A man that made sure that his family was taken care of even if it meant he had to make sacrifices and very generous.
You will be missed so much every day and you will always be in my heart. I hope your in the beautiful place you told us about.
Love you, Karen

Joanne and family, I was shocked and saddened to learn of Darrell's passing. Darrell and I worked together at RAAP for many years. He was always dedicated to his work and those whom he worked with. He spoke often of you and the children with great pride. I know that you all will miss him greatly but remember that earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May the Lord bring you the peace that passes all understanding.

To Mrs. Dalton and Family...the tribute to Mr. Dalton is absolutely beautiful. Your Dad was a wonderful man, I will always cherish the memories from the Dalton house. I can't eat a bologna, mayonnaise and lettuce sandwich(with Doritos and Red Cool Aid) without thinking of the days spent on Matthews Ct.. The many times of spending the night, Darlene ironing her clothes for 2 hours before she would leave the house and most of all, your dad always with a smile on his face. May God bless you all during this difficult time.

I have known Darrell and all of his brothers and sister, and parents, as long as they have lived in Pemberton.I grew up with all of them. I was in the same class with Billy and saw him in 2010. We all went to the same church. I was able to leave Pemberton and became a lawyer. The Dalton family were fine people and I really loved each of them.
