I worked with Tom at a book and music store in downtown Roanoke for several years. He possessed an enviable knowledge of music, particularly of the Classic Rock variety. Many customers looked to him for his great advice. His sense of humor always brightened our days, especially around the holidays when retail can be very trying. He was always happy to help. I've run into him a few times in recent years and he always greeted me with a smile and kind words. And always took time to chat, a rarity these days. I am very saddened to learn of his death. I know he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
