Donatus Ohanehi Obituary
April 14, 2022
Donatus Ohanehi was called home to his Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
He was a research scientist and instructor at Virginia Tech in in several Engineering departments. He had also worked as a Senior Engineer for Kollmorgen Corporation. He was born in Nigeria and came to the United States to attend college. He earned his PhD at Virginia Tech in 1980 and remained in Blacksburg. He was a dedicated Christian and had many close friends.
His beloved family grieves their loss but rejoices that he is at rest with God. His sisters, Anastasia Nwamarabia Okechukwu, Perpetua Ngozi Iloduba, Mary Bernadette Ifunanya Ohanehi are in Nigeria and his brother, Emmanuel Emeka Ohanehi is in Qatar.
There will be a private burial. A memorial gathering is planned for this summer.
"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:14.

I just learned of Don´s passing today. Don was such a kind and peaceful person. A wonderful friend and colleague. An excellent instructor who taught hundreds of engineering students over the many years I worked with him in Engineering Education. He was always prepared, very student centered and focused on doing his very best.
He is at peace now, but his passing is a loss for us all.

Don was such a kind and caring person. He was a blessing to my Aunt when she was at Heritage Hall. Also he was such a help during the services at Heritage Hall. I know he is rejoicing in Heaven. He will be missed.
