Douglas Barker Obituary

Douglas Alan Barker, 48, of Marion, Va., passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Barker was born in Smyth County and was preceded in death by his father Max Barker. He was a general contractor and loved his dog Snickers and his horse. Survivors include mother, Joyce Church Barker; two sisters, Teresa Rose and husband David, Roanoke, Angela Prater and husband Scott, Chilhowie; one brother, Max Eugene Barker, Marion; nieces and nephews, Michele Barker, Alisha Barker, Jessica Rose, Jonathan Rose Jordan Prater, Madison Prater; several other loving family members also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday December 30, 2008 at the Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Herman Cress officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bradley's Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion is serving the Barker family.
