Duane Duncan Obituary

Duane Thomas Duncan, 45, of Snowville, Va., went to be with the Lord at his home on Sunday, January 3, 2010. Duane was born on October 10, 1964, in Montgomery County, Va., and was a son of Rodna Thomas Duncan and Eva Grace Lytton Duncan of Snowville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Ann Earles; and dearest friend, Steven Cook. Duane was a former chef at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Besides his parents, he is survived by Ricky and Wanda Duncan, of White Gate, Pearisburg, Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and William Ratcliffe, of Fairlawn, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Indian Valley Church of God in Indian Valley, Va., with the Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating. Burial will follow in the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery in Indian Valley, Va. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday one hour before the service from noon to 1 p.m. Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.

I am glad my uncle Dane is finally with the lord but i miss him so much. It is so hard going on without him. He understood me in so many ways and i could always talk to him. i wish i had more time with him....

Duane was a wonderful and very sweet person. He never changed from when we went to school together. His smile when seeing him always brightened my day and he will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to his family members and may you always have and share great memories of such a good person.
