The 5 Stanley children are forever grateful to Duane and all his brothers and sisters who were loving first cousins and surrogate siblings to our Mother, Alecia Stanley. They were anchor for Alecia when her father, C.T. Apperson died suddenly in 1952 when she was only 12. Duane's care and fun-loving good nature blessed us all.

Loved talking and sharing time with Duane. He always made me laugh, and the twinkle in his eye when we shared a joke. A well lived life full of adventures. No doubt he loved Ann and his family. Kind and giving, a man of faith. Loved by so many!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful and long lasting impact Duane had on all of us at First Baptist, especially the children! He spent so many hours, with much patience and love I might add, to listening to children say their scriptures and being there to support them. He was such a blessing to us all. His many rewards in Heaven are waiting for him! Praying for his family to have peace and joy knowing we will see him again!
