Edith Wray Obituary

Edith Arrington (Dee) Wray, 76, of Rocky Mount, Va., passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, her life was her family. She was born May 24, 1933, a daughter of the late Joe P. and Annie Greer Arrington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Owen Wray; brother, Mack Arrington; sisters, Ella Hambrick, Lucille Hodges, Judy Hodges and Gertrude Hudson. Surviving are her sons and daughtersin-law, Owen and Vikki Wray, Jackie and Melissa Wray; daughters and son-in-law, Lois Wray, Cindy and Kim Thurman, Annie Mattox; grandchildren, Nikki, Sarah, Jack, Isiah, Heather and Ethan; three great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Mason and Jeremy; sisters, Christine Dillon, Lottie Law and Betty Hollandsworth. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday, with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main St., Rocky Mount, Va., www.florafuneralservice.com.
